The historic North Chapel located at Liberty Station in Point Loma, was built in 1942 by the United Stated Navy on the Naval Training Center, San Diego, as a place of worship for thousands of recruits and servicemen. The building was used for more than 50 years as the place for religious services, wedding, funerals and gatherings. Hundreds of weddings took place in the Chapel and today, couples come back to visit and reminisce about their tour of duty at the former training center and its impact on their careers and lives.

In 2006, C.W. Clark, Inc. renovated the historic building and its magnificent stained glass windows, ornate tile, the original pipe organ and hand-carved pews. As part of the restoration process, C.W. Clark installed a state-of-the-art sound system and new air and heating system. The extensive restoration efforts transformed the building to its original splendor.

Today, The North Chapel is open to everyone for a variety of special events – wedding ceremonies, musical events and concerts, memorial services, to name a few.

Please stop by The North Chapel for a tour – we’d be happy to show you around.
